Jason G. Designs Products will be Managed by WooCommerce
On this blog I haven’t posted anything for a while. The reason is because I have been busy making some changes to the development version of my website locally. Specifically, the changes will be for the Products affiliate section of my store.
So, recently I saw some rendering issues for this section in relation to the plugin I was using for affiliate products, PG Simple Affiliate Shop. Since this was on my live site, I decided to download PG Simple Affiliate Shop to my localhost. I know; I should have had it there for testing to begin with.
Anyway, PG Simple Affiliate Shop has a Shop section in the admin where users can add each product and category. In my local environment, I am using the latest version of WordPress I can get, which right now is 5.8. I noticed that the Shop section was missing, which indicates that this plugin may not be compatible with the latest version of WordPress.
Since I was planning to manage this part of my website with WooCommerce after a while, I figured I needed to pull the trigger on this. PG Simple Affiliate Shop served my website very well and is a much simpler solution, but since it may not be supported in the future, it was time to go with the more comprehensive WooCommerce solution.
Plus, my design for the products page as it is looks like it could use a lot of help. Here are some screenshots of what the new look will entail. Because of large images, I put them in a gallery. The redesign from the local side, is pretty much complete.
I designed the cart, checkout and account even though affiliate links in WooCommerce don’t use all of these pages. In the future, I may want to create digital products, such as eBooks or so. I also plan to rejoin Amazon and offer newer, more relevant stuff in the future. Stay tuned if you’re interested in new products and supporting Jason G. Designs.
