Mixin’ Styles- GB to Add Style Variations

If you remember the original Mixin’ Styles, it used to have several color variants.

Now that the latest version of the block editor fully supports style variations, this is now possible for the block version. The difference is that now the editor controls the color schemes.

As such, the color schemes can now be customized and overwritten, if desired.

This is the beginning of my journey of creating the new style schemes. The theme will soon be on par with the original version. The theme.json file, which controls the styles, lets the developer override color palettes. This allows for tasteful color variants.

Here are a couple screenshots of the work in progress of the Blue Orange color variant.

If you are a themer and want to find out more about style variations, check out the Global Style Variations page at Full Site Editing. This is part of a far more comprehensive tutorial on everything to do with block theming. It is a quite good reference too.

Stay tuned, my readers, as the next update for Mixin’ Styles- GB will be rolling around soon!
